Install SlydeForge

A Windows application, user-mode install, no administrator rights required.

Latest version
v1.5.2
Released on 2026-10-04
What's new in this version
  • Component installation: frozen progress bar and "SlydeForge is not responding": after updating from an older version, leftover launcher settings slowed the component installation down considerably and froze the startup window on "Preparing download…". This is fixed: a full installation takes about 40 seconds again.
  • More informative progress bar: it now moves steadily through every step — looking for components, downloading file by file (name and size shown), then installing, the longest step.
  • Updating from within SlydeForge: nothing to do, as usual.

If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”

Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. SlydeForge is an independent project whose installer isn't signed with a commercial certificate yet, so Windows shows this warning as a precaution.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11
  • No separate Python install required (bundled Python environment)
  • No administrator rights required
  • Compatible with network-drive installs (UNC)

On first launch

SlydeForge walks you through turning on AI: a free Google key, created in a minute, is enough to try it. Editing, PowerPoint export and slideshows work even without AI.

Quick start

1

Download and install

Run the installer downloaded above: it installs SlydeForge in your Windows profile, no admin rights needed. Prefer the .zip archive? Extract it fully into a folder of your choice (right-click > Extract All).

2

Launch

Open SlydeForge from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut. The app bundles its own Python environment: nothing else to install.

3

Turn on AI

On first launch, SlydeForge walks you through it: create a free Google Gemini key in a minute (or Groq, OpenRouter), no credit card — or use SlydeForge credits. Your own access (Azure OpenAI, Copilot Enterprise, GitHub Models, Ollama) is available with a subscription.

4

Create your first deck

Describe a brief, attach your source files if needed, and let the AI generate your first presentation.

Release notes

First public release of SlydeForge 🎉

SlydeForge is an AI-driven presentation generator: describe what you want, or edit directly with your mouse — both methods apply to the same document, at any time.

  • AI generation and editing: create a full presentation from a brief, or request a change in plain language.
  • Fully editable PowerPoint export: every element (text, shape, image, table, chart) becomes a real PPTX object — never a flat image.
  • Rich brand kits: color palette, fonts, custom slide types, with a ready-to-use SlydeForge brand kit included.
  • Full presentation mode: slideshow, presenter console, automatic voice narration of speaker notes.
  • Video export: turn your presentation into a narrated MP4 video.
  • Automated workflows: chain bricks (data sources, AI, connectors, export) to automate repetitive tasks.

Enjoy!

Your download is starting

One thing before you open SlydeForge: on first launch, Windows will probably show a blue precaution screen. That's expected, and it takes two clicks.

Tip for the .zip archive

Before extracting it: right-click the .zip file › Properties › tick “Unblock” at the bottom of the General tab › OK. Windows won't ask again. These instructions are also in the archive's “LISEZ-MOI - Premier lancement.txt” file.

1Click “More info”
2Then click “Run anyway”

Recreation of the Windows screen · “Unknown publisher” only means the program isn't signed yet.

Why this message?

Windows checks every program downloaded from the Internet. SlydeForge is independent software that doesn't have a commercial digital signature yet (a paid certificate, planned soon). Windows doesn't know it yet, so it asks you to confirm, simply as a precaution.

That's it: this confirmation is only asked once, for the installer. After that, SlydeForge opens and updates normally.
