Install SlydeForge

A Windows application, user-mode install, no administrator rights required.

Two ways to install

The same application, two setup paths — pick whichever fits your situation.

Recommended for a first install

Guided installer (.exe)

A step-by-step wizard that walks you through setup and installs what's needed on the machine. It fetches the latest .zip archive itself at run time — no need to republish it on every app update.

Download the installer (Installer v1.0)
For updates

.zip archive

The reference format: it's what SlydeForge's built-in auto-update can apply directly. Bundled Python environment, no separate install required — extract it yourself.

Download the .zip

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11
  • No separate Python install required (bundled Python environment)
  • No administrator rights required
  • Compatible with network-drive installs (UNC)

Bundled Python included

Every install ships with its own complete Python environment, ready to use — no separate Python install on your machine.

Quick start

1

Download and extract

Grab the .zip archive above (or the portable executable), then fully extract it into a folder of your choice (right-click the file > Extract All).

2

Launch

Double-click SlydeForge.exe, or the .bat launcher — the app bundles its own Python environment, no separate install required. Dependencies for some marketplace components install automatically on first run if needed.

3

Set up the AI

In Settings > AI, pick one of the three backends (Copilot Enterprise, GitHub Models, or an OpenAI-compatible API) and test the connection.

4

Create your first deck

Describe a brief, attach your source files if needed, and let the AI generate your first presentation.

Version history

v1.1.8 2026-08-21
🐛 Fixes
  • Default free-tier Gemini/Groq models: the two models offered by default for the free trial (Gemini, Groq) had been deprecated by the providers and stopped working ("Test connection" returned a 404 error). Replaced with the currently available models (gemini-3.6-flash and qwen/qwen3.6-27b). An install that already saved one of the old models automatically switches to the new one, no action needed.
  • AI-generated content staying in French despite an English interface/brief: presentation generation ("New from brief"), automatic project/version naming, and presenter-notes suggestions all used to force French regardless of the request's language. Content now follows the language of the user's own brief.
  • Demo deck always in French: the presentation shown when opening the app and via File > New (sample) now follows the configured interface language.
  • Presenter mode partly in French under an English interface: the keyboard-shortcuts help bar (presenter console and the slideshow's help overlay) and the narration-language picker (presenter mode and voice library) are now fully translated.
v1.1.7 2026-08-21
✨ New

- Quick-access AI buttons above the slide editing canvas — Formatting, Challenge, Animation — direct equivalents of /suggest_design, /review_slide, and /suggest_animation for the currently displayed slide. Only shown once an AI backend is configured (Settings > AI).
- "Retry" button offered directly in the assistant when applying a suggested layout fails — retries only that step, without losing the choices already made (layout, colors, sizes).
- Stronger visual feedback during AI processing:
- a red glow and a highlight on the last message appear around the assistant's log when an AI action starts;
- a green glow and a polished "✓ Done" callout signal when processing finishes.
- Protection against parallel AI actions: AI buttons (quick actions, notes, a slide's context menu) are automatically disabled while another AI action is already running.

🐛 Fixes
  • The assistant's log didn't always scroll to the bottom when an interaction bar appeared ("Are you happy with this result?", conversational challenge, retry after failure) — the latest exchanges could stay hidden.
  • The before/after preview window (accept/reject an AI change) could become unreasonably wide and hard to read when the change summary was a bit long.
  • Several pieces of text stayed in French even with the interface set to English: the /suggest_design assistant, the AI's self-critique note, and the edit error message.
  • The example workflow's default icon wasn't picked up in the Workflows menu on an existing install (one that had already launched before this icon was introduced).
  • Icon alignment in the Manage Workflows… list.
v1.1.6 2026-08-21

New: anonymous usage statistics sent to the author (opt-out in Settings > Privacy), a "install on close" choice for updates, status-change emails on shared feedback. Fixed: an automatic update could leave the install in an inconsistent state if the SlydeForge.exe launcher was still briefly locked (e.g. by antivirus) at the moment of overwriting it — application code is no longer affected by this case.

v1.1.5 2026-08-22

Ctrl+Enter now sends a prompt (shown right on the button), language changes offer an immediate restart, and feedback sharing was reworked (confirm each time, an opt-out for automatic sharing, manual resend of an old entry). Fixes: the assistant sometimes replied in French even with an English interface, Ctrl+C didn't copy chat text, and feedback could silently vanish on a save failure.

v1.1.4 2026-08-21
  • Native Windows installation wizard (SlydeForge-Setup.exe): guided setup in French/English, no admin rights required, pick themes and examples right from install.
  • 3 new free AI connectors (no credit card needed) to try SlydeForge: Google Gemini, Groq, and OpenRouter.
  • Built-in marketplace for themes and example workflows, with automatic version-compatibility checks before every install.
  • English interface available (Settings > Language).
v1.1.3 2026-08-13

First public release of SlydeForge 🎉

SlydeForge is an AI-driven presentation generator: describe what you want, or edit directly with your mouse — both methods apply to the same document, at any time.

  • AI generation and editing: create a full presentation from a brief, or request a change in plain language.
  • Fully editable PowerPoint export: every element (text, shape, image, table, chart) becomes a real PPTX object — never a flat image.
  • Rich brand kits: color palette, fonts, custom slide types, with a ready-to-use SlydeForge brand kit included.
  • Full presentation mode: slideshow, presenter console, automatic voice narration of speaker notes.
  • Video export: turn your presentation into a narrated MP4 video.
  • Automated workflows: chain bricks (data sources, AI, connectors, export) to automate repetitive tasks.

Enjoy!
